PROSPAC ART PROGRAM SPOTLIGHTS TAMARA BRINK
March 10, 2026

By showcasing local and international artists, ProsPac’s art program celebrates Hawai‘i’s creative community and evokes a deep sense of place to Azure Ala Moana and Kaliʻu. One of the incredible artists ProsPac is honored to feature is Haleiwa-based artist Tamara Brink, whose reflective and nature-centered approach brings depth and emotion to her work.

Tamara shared that she has “always been drawn to creative expression,” but her path as an artist became more focused after earning her degree in art education and later moving to Hawai‘i. As a mother of three, her studio practice has grown alongside her family, shaped by intuition and the intention to create moments of calm within a busy life.

Nature plays a central role in her process. She describes it as her greatest influence, guiding both the palette and the emotional energy of her work. “I tend to paint from a place of feeling rather than planning,” she said, explaining how each piece emerges from movement and contemplation.

To Be Still was created during a period when she was seeking clarity and grounding. The layered botanical forms reflect that desire, representing both steadiness and growth. She envisioned the piece as something “bold and peaceful,” offering viewers an invitation to pause and return to themselves. This grounding, restorative approach is what makes Tamara’s work a natural fit for Kaliʻu.”

Hawai‘i’s landscapes and culture continue to shape her work in meaningful ways. Tamara often speaks about the depth of color here, noting that “the colors exist in a way they do not anywhere else,” from rich greens to warm earth tones to the soft hues of sunrise and sunset. She also credits Hawai‘i with teaching her about connection, harmony, and respect for nature– a grounding influence that naturally flows into her paintings.

Above all, Tamara hopes her artwork gives viewers a moment to breathe. If someone feels calmer, more present, or more connected, she feels the piece has done what she intended.
